My name is Michelle Goyette, and I am a professional provider of supervised visitation and monitored exchange services, committed to upholding the requirements set forth in California Standard 5.20, and Family Codes 3200 and 3200.5. As a neutral third-party monitor, my priority is to ensure the safety and well-being of children while providing a supportive and conflict-free environment for parent-child interactions.
While I was previously a stay at home mother of three, I have 5 years of experience in advocacy work for adults with severe disabilities and assisted living for elderly adults. Recently, I have ventured into providing professional supervision and have received specialized training in supervised visitation practices, child development, family law, and mandated reporting. I have also completed training in domestic violence and child abuse awareness. I am dedicated to ongoing professional development and committed to staying current with best practices in the field.
Having personally experienced the challenges of divorce, both as a child of divorced parents and as a parent navigating divorce with three young children, I bring a deep understanding of the emotional complexities families face during these transitions.
I understand that supervised visitation can be a challenging experience for families. I strive to provide a safe, neutral, and professional setting where children can connect with their parents in a positive and supportive environment. My approach is based on respect, empathy, and a commitment to following all court orders and guidelines. I believe that while my role is to remain neutral, it is important to acknowledge the strong emotions that parents may be feeling during this process, and that my work is dedicated to the well-being of all the families I serve. I am dedicated to maintaining a child-focused approach, and to creating a safe and comfortable space where positive interactions can occur.
I completed my Visitation Supervisor training from Melinda Haynes, MA, LMFT with Family and Children's Counseling Services Inc. FCCS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. I highly recommend her training services for those looking to help families through this phase.
